Director of finance and governance

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum - Full time 37.5 hours per week

Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. The Macular Society is the only charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world class research, and the best advice and support.

To support people affected by macular disease now, the Macular Society provides a range of support, information and services. Our research programme is focused on finding new treatments and a cure to Beat Macular Disease forever.

About the role

As a skilled and experienced finance professional, the Director of finance and governance will be responsible for ensuring robust financial processes and controls are in place, while providing insightful financial reporting to the Senior leadership team and Board of Trustees. They will lead and support a dedicated finance team and deliver high-quality financial guidance across all departments.

The director will also drive long-term financial planning, ensuring our financial strategy is fully aligned with the organisation’s broader strategic goals.
